Stuffed Chicken Fillets

Dad joke alert:

What  makes this recipe so good? It's im-peck-able!

What do you call a chicken that crosses the road?

Poultry in motion.

Ok, ok, moving on to the recipe now...

What you need:

6 X Chicken Fillets

6 X Slices of Ham

50g Grated Cheddar

Filling:

1 Tablespoon of Dried Thyme

1 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder (or to taste)

2 Tablespoons of Chopped Chives

150g Grated Mozzarella

100g Cream Cheese

1 Egg

What to do:

I did this in my gas braai, but you can do it in an oven too. Preheat to 150*C before you start prepping

Get a big bowl, and mix the filling ingredients together

Oil an oven pan tray

Place your chicken fillets on and season

Carefully slice a slit into the middle of the fillets

Stuff a piece of ham into the slits so it overlaps on the side

Spoon the filling in

Season to taste. If you are a chilli lover, now is the time to add that

Put into your gas braai at 150*C for 45 mins (lid down)

Sprinkle the grated cheese over, lid down, and cook for another 10 mins

Top with a little chopped spring onion (never hurts to look fancy and add another taste)

Enjoy!

Score: 8/10 golden spatulas - it was succulent, savoury and satisfying

Puppy paw of approval:

Teen nod of acknowledgment:

Family verdict: Burp
